Abstrak

This is an article about how character education is applied to students at St. Petrus Medan through the application of the discovery learning model in the learning process. Empirical reality shows that the current situation is very worrying; Many cases in society show that the quality of character of students in modern schools is decreasing. Violating norms not only violates decency, but can also develop into legal and religious violations. There are many factors that influence this, such as advances in information technology, very dynamic lifestyle changes, and parents' increasingly busy schedules, which reduce their attention to their children. Currently, character education is very important to build good character, which is part of the soft skills that are very useful in everyday life. Character education can be incorporated into any fun learning model. If it is said that in the world of education there is no perfect medicine, it means that there are many variations that can be used in the learning process to achieve national education goals. The discovery learning model is expected to improve student character by implementing character education in schools.
