This study aims to analyze the difficulties encountered by Class VI students at UPT SDN 060893 in learning multiplication. As a fundamental mathematical skill, multiplication plays a crucial role in developing problem-solving abilities and supporting students' progression to more complex mathematical concepts. However, many students face persistent challenges in mastering multiplication, which can hinder their academic development. This research seeks to identify the specific obstacles experienced by students, including conceptual misunderstandings, lack of fluency in basic multiplication facts, and emotional factors such as anxiety and low confidence.The study employs a qualitative approach to explore the underlying causes of these difficulties. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with students and teachers, and an analysis of students’ written work. The findings indicate that students struggle primarily with understanding the abstract nature of multiplication and its application in real-world contexts. Additionally, inadequate teaching methods, insufficient practice opportunities, and variations in students’ learning styles contribute significantly to their difficulties.Based on the analysis, the study proposes strategies to address these challenges, including the use of interactive teaching methods, visual aids, and differentiated instruction tailored to students’ needs. Emphasis is also placed on fostering a supportive learning environment that reduces anxiety and builds confidence in mathematics. The results of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for educators and policymakers in enhancing the effectiveness of multiplication instruction, ultimately improving students’ mathematical proficiency and academic success.
