Abstract

Human trafficking has become one of the big problems in Southeast Asia. Therefore, ASEAN as a forum for regional integration must make every effort to eradicate, handle and prevent trafficking in persons. The purpose of this paper is to explain the efforts made by ASEAN to deal with the issue of human trafficking. The concept of human security and the concept of sustainable development goals (SDGs) will be used to illustrate the problems of human trafficking and efforts to eradicate ASEAN in Southeast Asia. The results obtained are that ASEAN has made various efforts to eradicate human trafficking both from various declarations, conventions, and foreign policies of each ASEAN member country, but it has still not achieved significant results. However, this has become evidence of ASEAN's concern for non-traditional security issues, specifically human security and for sustainable development listed in the SDGs.
