The value of tolerance is essential in creating a harmonious society by fostering an open attitude, respect for individual rights, and acceptance of diversity. Tolerance plays a crucial role in preventing bullying, especially in elementary schools, where the curriculum aims to develop good habits and orderly behavior among students. However, achieving tolerance in elementary schools remains challenging, as observed in various instances of bullying due to a lack of teacher and parental attention. Studies have shown that teachers who effectively educate students about tolerance, collaborate with parents, and model respectful behavior can significantly reduce bullying. This research aims to explore strategies for instilling tolerance values to prevent bullying in elementary schools, emphasizing the role of teachers and the need for comprehensive support from schools and families. The study was conducted using descriptive research methods, involving observations and interviews with homeroom teachers in an elementary school in Medan. The data collected focused on the teachers' understanding of tolerance values, the strategies used to instill these values, and the obstacles faced in the process. The findings reveal that instilling tolerance is effective in shaping students' character and reducing bullying. Teachers can act as role models and collaborate with parents and the community to promote respect and appreciation for diversity among students. The research highlights the importance of early education in tolerance and suggests that comprehensive efforts from both schools and families are necessary to overcome the challenges of bullying in elementary schools.
