Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of guidance and counseling services in helping students overcome difficulties in self-control at SDN 060915 Medan Sunggal. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus was on behavioral and attitudinal changes in students after receiving counseling services. The findings indicate that students experienced significant improvements in self-regulation, politeness, and overall behavior both at school and at home. The counseling interventions applied storytelling techniques and a remedial approach, carried out with empathy and appropriate psychological strategies. The study also highlights the importance of support from the school environment and family during the counseling process. In conclusion, guidance and counseling services play a crucial role in shaping emotionally stable students who are capable of managing themselves positively. This research underscores the need for sustainable and individualized counseling services tailored to students' unique characteristics.
