Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the teaching assistance program involving Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students to improve the quality of learning at UPT SD Negeri 060930 Medan Johor. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, employing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of the study included teachers, assistant students, and pupils at the school. The results indicate that the involvement of students as teaching assistants enhances learning interaction, diversifies teaching methods, and increases student motivation. This program also provides significant practical experience for students in developing their professional competencies. Although some challenges were identified, such as limited time and the need for more intensive guidance, overall, the teaching assistance program proved effective in improving the quality of learning. The study recommends strengthening coordination between universities and schools, as well as enhancing initial training for students to optimize the program in the future.
